Internet Flower Delivery Now Lets Us Express our Affection to Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime in the World!

Few of us appreciate how the internet has simplified our lives. A prime example is sending flowers to someone in a locale not our own. Today you can search out florists anywhere in the world or a florist with a national network, view the florist’s catalog of products, make your choice, place your order online, and pay with a credit card. Internet flower delivery today enables you to send gifts of flowers to anyone anywhere, but until we had internet flower delivery, sending flowers to someone in another locale besides your own was hardly feasible, although it could be done.

In the past, sending flowers was not as easy as it is today. If you were sending flowers to someone in your locale, you only needed to tell your florist the local address and the identity of the recipient, and for a small price your flower gift would be delivered, but if you wanted to give a gift of flowers to someone outside your locale, the process was
complicated and expensive. First you had to locate a florist in the town or city where your recipient lived. You might go to the library and go through the phone book of that town or city, if your library held that phone book – few libraries carried phone books of all towns and cities in the state, much less in towns and cities throughout the U.S. If you could find a florist advertising in the yellow pages, you were in luck. If you couldn’t find the yellow pages for the town or city in which your recipient lived, you could always try to find a newspaper in the library for that town or city, but again the likelihood of finding such a newspaper was not much greater than finding a yellow pages for the same place. If a florist was advertising in the paper, again, you were in luck. Since credit cards were not prevalent, you couldn’t just call the florist, order flowers, and pay with a card. You had to write to the long distance florist and ask for a listing of their products. If you received a reply, you could write back, place your order and enclose a check. Of course, you were purchasing the product sight unseen. Assuming the florist delivered, you’d also have to include delivery costs. As you can imagine, before internet flower delivery was available, sending flowers long distance was hardly possible, and if it was, it was a time-consuming process and quite expensive.

Of course, back then, you could go to your local florist, select some flowers, box them up and have them mailed. If the flowers weren’t crushed in the mail, more often than not they arrived old and stale.

Today, thanks to the internet flower delivery option, you can have your flowers delivered within 24 hours of your order or, if you place your order early enough, an internet flower delivery service can have your flowers arrive at their destination on the same day! Thanks again to the internet, networks of florists have emerged that allow you to place your order so that a florist in the destination locale can fill the order for you and get it to the recipient in a fresh and vibrant condition.

The internet has improved our lives in many ways. With the aid of the internet, we now can send flowers to anyone anywhere, anytime. Considering the difficulty and expense of doing that just a few decades ago, you have to agree, the internet has improved our lives, at least our ability to express our feelings to someone who might be thousands of miles away.
